The replacement project of regular exhibits of "Innovation and Future."
The theme for the new exhibition is "From Imagination to Creation, toward a New Society through Technological Innovation," and the progress of scientific technology is shown in a way that likens it to water circulation.
"From Imagination to Creation" shows in imagery the human history in which imagination and creation have been repeated.
In "the Spring of Wishes" and "the Rivers of Creativity" exhibition, the process of people's desire (imagination) developing into five creative powers (Association, Integration, Serendipity, Mimic, Alternative) that will lead to technological innovation is demonstrated with experiential exhibits likening to five rivers.
GK Tech created digital contents and designed a part of the system, while GK Graphics created the animated pictures for "From Imagination to Creation" and others.
1. From Imagination to Creation
The screen placed at the entrance of the exhibition area of the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation serves as an introduction to the exhibition area. Animated illustrations show human achievements made possible by the development of tools and scientific knowledge. We designed the contents of the animation to help visitors to look back upon how humans have realized their dreams, and to consider what future technological innovation would bring for humans and where humans are heading with new technologies.

2. The Spring of Wishes
The symbol of a spatial design concept likening the cycle of creativity to the circulation of water. Various human desires gush forth from the spring, and merge into the five “rivers of creativity” (association, integration, serendipity, mimic, alternative) and finally reach the sea of fertility.

3. The River of Creativity “Association”
A display to help visitors experience the wonder of a quantum computer. The quantum computer with its capability to rapidly retrieve information is able to instantly choose specific information from among vast amounts of data. Here, a visitor takes his/her photo, and looks for the photo on the two screens, one showing many faces and the other in a spherical display synthesizing the reed-shaped photos of faces.

4. The River of Creativity “Integration”
The display system shows the work of a lab-on-a-chip in the style of a quiz. The lab-on-a-chip (LOC) enables us to see or to conduct on this small chip various chemical experiments hitherto only undertaken in laboratories.

5. The River of Creativity “Serendipity”
Animation to emphasize the importance of serendipity in scientific research by introducing the accidentally discovered electrical conductive plastic. A visitor analyzes and understands the properties of electrical conductive plastic (polyacetylene) and PET by touching the panel following the instructions of a doctor in the animation.

6. The River of Creativity “Mimic”
Animation introducing the process of “artificial photosynthesis” as a method to tackle environmental and energy issues mimicking the superb mechanism of plants.

7. The River of Creativity “Alternative”
A room in which three sides are made of display terminals. In future houses, all the wall paper may be replaced by terminals and we will be able to enjoy various interior effects by changing the projected images regularly.
