墨田区の地域特性は、両国や向島などの歴史的・文化的特色を持つ街並みと、東京スカイツリー周辺の新たな街づくりが進むエリアを併せ。

そのため、設置場所の特性に応じて「基本デザイン」「歴史・文化デザイン」「タワービューデザイン」の3つのデザイン設定を行っている。 

色や背景のパターンをそれぞれの地域特性に合わせて設定しながらも、デザインマニュアルで情報内容等の共通化を図っているため、区全域で統一したサインデザインとなっている。

Sumida Ward has the area with the characteristic of history and culture like Ryogoku and Mukojima and the area in that the production of a new town is taking place around Tokyo Skytree. GK Sekkei made a signage plan for the town intending to improve the flow and excursion of the traffic in the town while having utilized the both of the charming characters of the areas.

Set up three types of design; “Schematic Design,” “Historical and Cultural Design,” “Tower View Design.” Engaging in design control work so as to the sign is recognized as a unified system in all areas of the ward. The work resulted in the design manual to unify the style and editorial way of information in the map. For that, the color scheme and background pattern for respective types of the sign were set. People then can obtain necessary information consistently while each district is appealing its characteristics.
