Total design project of light rail transit in Toyama city

To convert the JR Toyamako Line into a tram system, cars equipped with extremely low flooring were introduced and the line was reborn as an essential means for transport for Toyama citizens. The total-design project was based on a uniform proposal that included the basic concept, and car and stop designs.

Hirobo Live Factory

Hirobo Co. is well known for its radio-controlled helicopters. The new factory named live Factory was opened in Fuchu city, Hiroshima prefecture. As the design intended to create an open factory, visitors are able to observe people at work though glass windows. It has a gallery space called Skyboy Galley, where model planes are exhibited. The factory is designed to demonstrate the pleasure of creation to its visitors. It also has a hall where local citizens can get together, as well as an authentic French restaurant. The factory is located on a hilltop and visitors can enjoy a nice view of the sky and the city and the feeling of openness.
“GAITSOLUTION Design” for an ankle / foot orthosis

This medical-use, ankle-foot orthosis was designed for patients suffering from hemiplegia. Smooth movement, achieved with an oil damper and an excellent fitting capability, allows the user to walk in a natural manner. The product was conceived as a “partner” apparatus that would help the user walk with a renewed sense of confidence.

“Expo 2005 Aichi Japan” sign, street furniture and service facilities

The signage and the street furniture design for Expo 2005 Aichi Japan with the theme “Nature’s Wisdom” required quality context for “environment,” “temporariness” and “dramatization.” We developed the system with the parts accessible for maintenance and relocation, re-use, recyclable by disassembling. With the concept of 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), the system is to correspond to the widely diversified environment of the installation by straining the load on global environment to the minimum level.
To dramatize the argument, tried to express the unified relation between cultural identity and Satoyama like surrounding environment. The expression was made possible by using biodegradable membrane for the banner and using the Japan-taste color as the host country. (Sekkei）

Dougu-An

An eternal journey has begun in questing the ultimate way of dougu in a comfortable breeze of Nanki-Shirahama. Ekuan secluded himself in the cabin Dougu-An to begin the practice of prayer. Ruminating over his own intention, he contemplated Dougu World day and night. Having reviewed material things, in natural atmosphere with a bird chirping, sunshine filtering through foliage, he thought about creation of a new dougu. Gradually the imagination on Dougu Temple emerged in his mind and the breeze from Dougu Village gently stroked his cheeks.
PET bottle design

A whole bottle was designed in a movement with the theme of “oneness.”
Elegant and rich impression, created by both twisted bottle form and transparent tea, appeals clear taste and relaxation induced from it.

As Keihan Electric Railway has been working on the brand creation of “New Keihan” looking toward the next era by having the opening Nakanoshima Line (2008) and the 100th anniversary of the business opening as a juncture of the operation,
For one of its approaches, the renewal work was done, on the exterior and interior design of the new next type version of the car 3000 series, and the coloring of all trains after a half-century. The design concept was “up to date Furyu.” It is taking a role of nurturing the local culture connecting Osaka and Kyoto. Further, trying to create the consistent design from comprehensive views such as the signage of the station building (name of stations, directories, timetable, information), street furniture (the bench, the trash can, equipment) .
“Improvement of Oike-dori Symbol Road” streetscape project

The street was redeveloped under the title of “Oikedori Symbol Road” when a subway line underneath the street was opened. In addition to consideration on safety and functionality, we took into account the pleasantness for walking, offering stages for Gion and Jidai festivals.
“LITHRONE S40″ printing machine

An institutional use offset printing machine for high quality printing was designed. Not mere an institutional use machine, the design was structured to propose a concept harmonizing a human, a machine and working space.
