Light on the Web
2001 National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation
Rays coming toward visitors or escaping from them. Changing the intensity, light at the entrance hall gives a symbolic expression to the concept of the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation. There are 200 headlights set under the floor of the wind shelter. The sensors linked to each headlight detect the position and movement of visitors, and control the volume of luminance, switching on and off the lights. The system allows the visitors to use their bodies to interact with light and to send text messages to the light. Further, it enables accessing the light through the Internet.
