Kotoba stamp

A Japanese sound expressed in hiragana consists of a consonant and a vowel, except for a, i, u, e, and o. Sounds are combined to form words, phrases and sentences.
Kotoba Stamp is an interactive exhibit to show the relation between words and sounds using stamps. A stamp represents one sound. Various graphics and sounds come out when stamps are pressed on the table in different combinations and orders.
This is the first example of applying scientific expertise to an exhibit in the humanities, using techniques developed through producing scientific exhibits. (TECH)

“N’EX” series E259 Narita Express

This limited-express train provides service between Narita International Airport and Tokyo. By enhancing the brand status of N’EX, which was already established through the preceding 253 series of trains, the design was created to meet changing needs. The fusion between the design and state-of-the-art technology led to the creation of a mobile space and time in which passengers could enjoy a comfortable ride.

“STI VR-Z” rubber injection molding machine

STI-VR SERIES is the rubber injection molding machine implemented as ” the topmost level one in the category as to be the next generation product.” As aiming at creating the innovative interface in considering existing customers, accomplished to set the brand identity of the product by improving usability and reliability of the operation parts and the integration of the form and the function.
Further, now working on stressing the identity as Japan brand proud of high performance and quality by expressing the message through the brand logo design of made in Japan and the cherry pink body color as a message.

“VMAX” motorcycle

This is a new model of the VMAX, a motorcycle that has continued to sell all over the world for 25 years since it was first introduced in 1985. While adopted some aspects of earlier models, this newly developed VMAX combines a powerful expression (unusual in Japan) with a Japanese-style design to achieve even greater originality.

“Heavenly Spoon” ice-cream

A limited amount of superior-class ice cream was sold through the Internet. GK Graphics designed the package. The widely shared image of the product and the given brand expression were harmonized. A landscape photo associated with paradise was applied to create the feeling of a very special ice cream.

This is a design for next-generation construction equipment. In addition to a form that expresses improved performance in areas such as operability, mobility, and safety, the product was conceived to make it immediately identifiable on a construction site where confusion often leads to a dangerous situation.

NESCAFE GOLDBLEND

Nescafe Goldblend from Nestle Japan is long time popular brand since introduced to market in 1967. For fortieth anniversary in 2007, renewal work was carried out.
The challenge of the project was further appeal of “mild taste and elegant aroma” and “quality feeling” that was primary distinction of the product, while maintaining the key visual effect supported by royal users.
A new image was tried to be created by proactively using gold color scheme carrying “elegance,” “mild feeling” and “quality,” and also adding a gentle curve depicting a waft of aroma.

“N-SC1 / Eneloop”  solar charger

In this realization of a green-energy concept, solar energy is used to power the Eneloop charger, which can be used over and over again. The device, sublimated in a simple pyramid shape, has the ability to adjust to the sun’s height. While creating a sense of harmony with a house’s interior, the product also raises environmental awareness.

E233 series, Chuo Rapid Line

After first considering what type of form that would be appropriate to an urban environment, GK came up with a design for both the interior and exterior of the cars that created a modern yet cheerful and soft impression. Equipped with a universal design that included easy-to-grip handholds and a priority seating area, the train cars came to be used on many lines.
