Earlier in 1960, GK had proposed Dwelling City, which was an embodiment of a space created by dougu according to
“Study of Dougu” that was the origin of GK Architect. The city is a plan having dougu for creating space that bears a human centered city surrounding an axis composed by housing named Dwelling City. In the idea, many housing units are composed like a huge shell as a whole to create the public space in its center. The networked dougu is assumed to make an infrastructure for utility supply and drainage freed from gravity, and makes the city possible to have a living environment with flexible net work. By restructuring Dwelling City through self-sustaining contemporary technologies, we would like to ask ourselves what fulfilled the living for Japanese as well as contemplating “should be” housing capable to flexibly respond to a paradoxical part of society such as overwhelming speed of aging, a natural disaster and energy.

When the age shifts to the 1960, a bicycle was liberated from just a means of carriage to transportation. Its nimble design was telling the advent of happy life.

Until that time, dried laver was sold by just bundled or in a rectangular tin can, the company changed the style of packaging to a cylindrical can. A cylindrical can is easier for mass production and has better airtightness than a rectangular one, and good for merchandise control. The design easily recognized at a glance and worked well for mass exhibit played a significant role for the nation wide development of sales spots.

This design, which hasn’t changed since its creation in 1961, is a familiar presence on dining tables all over the world. As soon it arrives from the factory, the receptacle is ready to use. Solving the persistent problem of dripping, the clipped spout changed the tabletop landscape by creating a splendid harmony with the shape of the bottle.

A scooter in its early stage was produced by utilizing war supplies such as a wheel for an air plane left over right after World War Ⅱ. However, it was seen as an objective of design development in late 50’s when Japan recovered from devastation to the extent of so called “not postwar any longer,” and it was diverted to a charming urban transportation.
