“Sign Ring” signage project for West Shinjuku District

This circular street structure was designed for the Shinjuku Subcenter, an area where it is easy to become lost. With a form that clearly indicates a person’s present location, the Sign Ring incorporates a variety of functions, including traffic signals, street lights, and car detectors, and is beautifully integrated with the intersection, which has a tendency to become chaotic.

KIRIN ICE BEER

We engaged in the development of a beer, tastes clear and crisp, one freezing process added in which uninvited tastes were removed. The objective of this design was to express quality, cool and crystal feeling derived from an additional process.
A quality feeling design was achieved by crystal expression of silver textured polyhedral can with typographical design layout flush to the left. Also the polyhedral can could maintain its durability with lesser aluminum volume in responding to environmental issues. （Gra)

“Foot Print” Neural Object Ⅳ planning, designing and production

Swimming in swarms of noctilucae in the pitch dark sea at night. Respective noctilucae glimmers being stimulated by the movement of the swimmer. Without any nerve center of the swarm, each noctiluca glimmers on its own. From the distance, the glimmering swarm looks like making formation assimilating into a human figure. Foot Prints is the work inspired by such experience. A swarm of artificial noctilucae mimicking a noctilua’s glimmering system is the mechanism of Foot Prints. When people are walking on Foot Prints, the “noctilucae” is stimulated, excited and glimmering, then gradually ceasing as people are passing through. In this exhibition, 5,400 artificial noctilucae were built in underneath the reinforced glass floor. A visitor leaves footprints and might experience the feeling of going across the water surface.

Nippon Lever K.K. is developing many brands in a single category. The focus of marketing was to have sustainable differentiation of the products, and to strengthen its market position of product characteristics in damaged hair treatment category.
Points of the new design were to make design change effectively in utilizing existing assets. Their bottles were shaped in distinctive wave lines reminding of healthy, beautiful and rich hair. By changing the eye catcher pattern to a simple point mark and making the Brand Logo to a signature, quality atmosphere was produced. The products made goods of psychological daily life scene. (Gra)

High-voltage tower

A 60 meter high pylon. Aimed at creating a new landscape by not making it as a mere structure for a power line. Its form consist of a single pole, a thin oval shaped arm, an arc shaped arm is seen blended in the distance, no domineering expression in the mid-distance, connecting to the sky in the close distance.

Miyabuchi Shinbashi Kami-Kanai Line reconstruction (Nagano Pref.)

The improvement project of the streets around Matsumoto Castle was the central part of the work for the urban planning centered by the castle. The operation was to ease vehicular traffic and the intra-city traffic congestion by making the eight-meter wide street, presently one-way without the sidewalk, into sixteen meters wide both way streets. It was required to create the comfortable space for pedestrians as a round trip route for sight seeing. Without quickly copying the design of the castle, set the design policy to make the street properly working, required as a public facilities, reconciling with the surrounding landscape.
Tried to embody a lovely scene at night by straining the brightness of the street lighting systems, as well as utilizing the view of and from Matsumoto Castle that has been making citizens’ daily views. Also designed to conserve the trees there since Matsumoto Shrine was built, and a bridge component was protecting the historical remnant.(Sekkei）

“N’EX” series 253 Narita Express

Connecting the airport and central part of the city.
The train that foreign visitors use for in and our of the city. Exterior design of Narita Express was done in Japanese traditional color scheme of white, gray and vermilion. Light and stylish Interior was designed with larger seats with ample room underneath for luggage, and also various information panel of train operation were designed.
