GK Design Soken Hiroshima worked on the branding of Urara, the 227 series urban DC electric railcar newly introduced in the Okayama/Bingo area by West Japan Railway Company.  We also designed the coloring and the train logo for , another 227 series train that has been serving in the Hiroshima area.  This time, we collaborated with the local employees of JR to pursue a design that represents the region while considering the connection between and . With a design concept of “The Colors of Good Harvest and Gentleness,” we suggested the regional feature of the Okayama/Bingo area by using pink as the base color.

The nickname was selected from the public submissions.  We strived to represent the gentle impression and sound of the word in the logo design.
