To mark her retirement from the service as a Senior Adviser of GK Design Group, Sumiko Onodera gave an online lecture titled “Chairman Kenji Ekuan and My Humble Self.”
After building her career overseas and in foreign-affiliated companies, Ms. Onodera joined GK Industrial Design Associates in 1979. She spent many years as a secretary of Chairman Kenji Ekuan before assuming the post of a member of the Board and the Chief of Secretariat in 2009. She has played various and vital roles, including external liaison for GK.
In the lecture, she looked back on the period when she supported Chairman Ekuan with the international activities and shared unknown episodes. As a witness of more than 40 years of GK history, she let us rediscover the philosophy and heart that makes GK what it is.
Ms. Onodera will continue her activities such as that at Japan Finland Design Association.
