A social experiment led by the private sector to utilize public space was conducted in central Hiroshima through sponsor investment and collaboration by cooperating companies. The purpose of the experiment was to change the function of a road called Aioi-dori that prioritized cars and trams. It had been a road for vehicles, but by redeveloping roadways such as bus bays and open spaces and unused land in private areas to create a street where pedestrians can meet up and relax. GK assisted the project in various forms, including direction and environment /information designs.
