E233 series, Chuo Rapid Line
East Japan Railway Company
After first considering what type of form that would be appropriate to an urban environment, GK came up with a design for both the interior and exterior of the cars that created a modern yet cheerful and soft impression. Equipped with a universal design that included easy-to-grip handholds and a priority seating area, the train cars came to be used on many lines.
