GK Design Group's establishment dates back to 1952. First set out to practice centered by industrial design, and always have had today's comprehensive structure by taking in a theme of times. And today's GK has been structured according to “the cooperation and empathy among members through teamwork,” namely “organized creative work by design entities.”
Since its establishment, GK Group has been supporting itself with “three principle activities” as its driving power. The three activities are called as “business,” “movement,” “research,” through which GK Group, as a creative entity, is able to relate itself to society.
“Business” means the activities to offer benefit of design to people. “Movement” means the activities to convey the significance of design to people in comprehensible manner. And “research” means the activities to prove the universality of design to society.
With maintaining respective companies’ specialties, GK Group has been widely covering design service realms such as industrial design, environmental design, graphics design, while offering a consistent process of service relevant to design projects ranging from the essential research of a subject, market research, product planning to overall development plan including urban planning. In addition, by having some stations and cooperative entities both in Japan and abroad, services are effectively conducted by utilizing these networks up to an international project. And GK Design Group Inc., as a headquarters of GK Group, is unifying the group activities.
In this era of design, people’s expectation for it has been ever higher. The very reasons are that design raises the value of subjected things and matters, by integrating and expressing all effort and intentions of their background in tangible expression. Thus it is so important for the creation of a design to approach it with consistent processes. The processes are not only giving a form to an individual subject but also materializing design strategy in integrated concept on relevant objective items and consistent care even before and after form-giving works.
