Lecture: Dr. Lin Kun-Fan,
The Forming Principles of Kanji

We invited Dr. Lin Kun-Fan, Director, Culture, and Creative Research Center of Chung Yuan Christian University, to give us a lecture on typography. Dr. Lin is a noted researcher in the East Asia of original prints in China and wrote many books also in Japan.
In the first half of the lecture, he talked about the history of kanji type. In the second half of the lecture, he introduced the cases of branding about tourism derived from the study of the traditional pattern used by Chinese minorities of the inner region of China. The study was presented by the works awarded design awards of Red Dot and iF. The both expressed abundant creative suggestions.

Lin Kun-Fan:
Associate Professor at Chung Yuan Christian University. Director, Culture, and Creative Research Center of the University.

Received the degree of Ph.D. in arts after completed doctoral course art major of Nihon University College of Art. Ph.D.of arts. At the position to date after the head of Department of Commercial Design of Chung Yuan Christian University, and associate professor at Ming Chuan University.
